1940s Dance, Saturday 9th March, Northwood W.I. Hall
Members of the Vectis 40s Vintage club welcomed all to a fabulous 40s Dance evening at Northwood W.I Hall on Saturday 9th March 2013.
Tea was served along with some delicious home baking, and war time favourites such as carrot cake, bread pudding, pastries, buns and some gorgeous individual tarts!
Entertainment was provided by Alan and Sylvia, playing a great selection of wartime faves..
There was much entertainment on the dance floor, with lessons by Roger and Linda, much appreciated by David and Carol in particular! Look forward to more lessons in future maybe?
Apart from Roger and Linda who danced wonderfully, Les and Heather acquitted themselves very well on the floor!

After a good old sing song ....
...Came the very well stocked raffle... prizes demonstrated by Les and Heather!!
Roger and Linda seemed to have the lucky tickets, winning lots of goodies and later shouting "put them back" when their numbers continued to be picked!! Must get them to do my lottery numbers!!
A fantastic evening was had by all, and lots of money raised for charity...
Will update when I have the details....
Looking forward to the next 40s night tomorrow (23rd March at Newport Catholic Church Hall at 7-30pm Dance, Quiz and raffle prize for best dressed american supper all for £3-00 in aid of the IOW Lourdes Group.)
